Pakistan is a country located in Southeast Asia. It shares borders with Iran in the west, with Afghanistan in the north-west, and with India in the north-east and east; on the south is washed by the Arabian Sea. Most of the territory is occupied by highlands and mountainous areas. The total area of the country is about 796 thousand square kilometers.

The head of the country is the president. The legislative body is represented by the bicameral parliament. Islamic parties and traditions have a strong influence in the political and public life.

The official monetary unit is a Pakistani Rupee (PRe, PRs), consisted of 100 pices. There are banknotes with a face value of 1000, 500, 100, 50, 10, 5, 2 and 1 rupee; coins with a face value of 2 and 1 rupee; and coins with a face value of 50, 25 and 10 pices. You can exchange money at almost any bank or store, as well as in numerous private exchange offices.

American Express cards are accepted almost everywhere; MasterCard, Diners Club and Visa are accepted only in some locations. Most of banks, 4 and 5-star hotels and major stores accept traveler's checks. To avoid additional costs for their exchange is recommended to have traveler's checks in U.S. dollars or pounds sterling.
